The company plans to invest USD 1 billion over five years. Brazil President Lula and Meituan CEO Wang Xing attended the signing.

<a href="/company/gac">GAC</a> confirmed plans to localize <a href="/industry/ev">EV</a> production in Brazil and launch a R&amp;D center in Sao Paulo during President Lula’s visit to China. New models including the Aion V and GS4 will debut at a May 23 event as GAC advances full-chain operations in Latin America.

<a href="/company/byd">BYD</a> topped <a href="/company/tesla">Tesla</a> in European sales for April 2025, recording 11,123 units sold across 14 markets including Spain, Italy, France, the UK, and Germany. In comparison, Tesla sold 6,253 units. BYD’s market share surged in the UK with a 654% YoY increase, and it captured 10% of Italy’s market with 5,646 units sold from January to April.
