Kia ora koutou katoa, Taro here.

It seems like eternity has gone by since we were last able to go out and socialize in groups here in Singapore. As a result, the way business relationships are formed and developed with the use of online formats is now critical. While it’s going to be great to meet in person and finally shout the long promised rounds at the local watering hole (at last count, I owe about a dozen), it has meant cross-border connections are being made that may have been out of reach before.

Recently, we supported Alibaba Cloud for their Apsara 2021 Conference, a hybrid event that attracted more than 60,000 attendees, who took part online and in person. As part of the agenda, we got Southeast Asian startups Maju Robotics, Rovula, Anrich3d, AiTreat, Hiverlab, and Whizz Mobility to join the event as panelists and discuss their respective industries’ developments and trends. The panel recordings were added to the Alibaba Digital Beats YouTube channel, and each one has generated a lot of buzz, racking up over 200,000 views apiece so far.

It was a very fulfilling experience to help these rising startups gain traction and be part of their growth journey. We hope that we can continue to provide opportunities like this for startups across Southeast Asia to aid them with their goals and innovative vision. Whether it rains or shines, there are problems to be solved by tech.

We’re always ready to feature new voices from the region. If you’re interested and want to hear about the ways we collaborate with startups, hit us up at [email protected].
