The gaming giant’s stock price also hit a record high.

Chinese social media and gaming giant Tencent (HKG: 0700) saw an enthusiastic welcome from Chinese gamers for its latest mobile title Moonlight Blade Mobile, which earned more first-week iOS revenue than any game in the country’s history, said SensorTower in a report published on Monday.

The USD 50 million revenue generated from China-based iOS devices since the game’s official release on October 16 surpassed the previous record, set by Perfect World Mobile, in 2019.

Featuring Chinese-inspired art, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game is an adaptation of a wuxia novel from well-known author Gu Long. Fans eagerly anticipated the game’s mobile version since Tencent launched the desktop version in 2016.

Boosted by strong gaming performance and the news that US court rejected Trump’s request to ban WeChat in the US, Tencent’s share price broke the HKD 600 (USD 77.4) benchmark for the first time on Wednesday afternoon local time, up 2.6% to hit a total market value of HKD 5.75 trillion (USD 740 billion).
